Steve Crume is the Joint Use Engineering and Streetlight Engineering Manager with Seattle City Light. Steve began his career at City Light almost 22 years ago after retiring from the United States Navy where he spent 24 years traveling the globe. While managing both Joint Use Engineering and Streetlight Engineering, Steve has been actively deploying the LED conversion project, sponsors the Streetlight Control pilot, initiated plans to rebuild aging streetlight infrastructure and ensures the completion of the annual contact voltage testing program. He has been active in developing and revising Engineering Standards which include streetlight grounding systems and overcurrent protection. Steve is one of the utility’s most knowledgeable employees with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and leads City Light’s effort to support deep fiber service buildouts and next generation wireless deployment.
Steve is an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and proud to be a 12! Steve spends his spare time walking, woodworking and barbequing.
